Whips, feather whips, spanking paddles

Whips are a universal term for various types of impact implements in BDSM games.

Paddles are used on the buttocks and thighs. Their impact is dull but intense. Depending on the design and material used, they produce a characteristic sound. If they have textured surfaces or engraved symbols or words, they leave an imprint at the point of impact.

A flogger is a whip with tassels. They can have a short handle and numerous short tassels or a handle with just two or three long, often braided, leather tassels. Floggers can also be used for sensory play, providing light stimulation to any part of the body. They are most commonly made of leather or synthetic leather, but can also be made of cotton rope or silicone. Depending on the number of tassels, their length, and material, they produce sharp and very intense pain.

A crop is typically long and thin. Of all the previously mentioned implements, it causes the most intense pain. When used, it produces a specific sound as it moves through the air (a swish). On one end, there’s a handle with or without a loop for the hand. The other end can be entirely straight or shaped like a heart, hand, folded belt, and so on.
